Live Passionately…
What does that look like?
If we are going to Live Passionately, we need to DO SOMETHING DRASTIC. I don’t know who said it, but it has been attributed to Albert Einstein… “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results“. This is “exactly” where the church is. We attend church Sunday after Sunday and expect God to happen “to” us. Like the fairy god-mother in Cinderella. We don’t want to do any surrendering, we just want God to change us. We don’t want to do any of the work, we want (maybe not even this) to be different; without the work or surrender for transformation.
I heard Pastor Craig Groeschel say once, “If we want something different, we have to ‘do’ something different”. I want something different in my walk with God. I haven’t back-slidden or sinned, I’m just ready to raise the bar. In the past, I just prayed. This time I approached some men in our church to meet with me regularly to ask me how I’m doing. I’m really looking forward to the dividends this is going to pay.
It’s time for something different… It’s time for something DRASTIC!
I am a normal guy (some may not think so), I’m married, two kids, a dog, a cat and a fish. I have owned a station wagon and a minivan (I can’t believe I just admitted that!) My wife still takes my breath away and I want nothing more from this life than to make Jesus famous and to hear him say, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
