It’s day 3 of the AWAKENING fast and the hunger starts to set in really strong. Last night we were reading our chapter in John as a family, my stomach growled during a prayer. Jenny and TJ heard from across the room! Usually the hunger begins to subside after day 3, so I looking forward to tomorrow.
On to John 3. STEPPING INTO THE LIGHT
Have you ever noticed that a lot of things that we do, that we know are sin, we do in the dark, or in isolation? That is what Jesus talking about in vs 20. It doesn’t have to be literal darkness, but it is the darkness of our understanding or the darkness of sin. Sometimes it is literal darkness. How many people have been lured by the pull of pornography or been in an inappropriate conversations because it took place when they were alone and/or in the dark?
That’s why it is so important to let the Holy Spirit illuminate our understanding. We need Him to change the way that we think about life and situations. We should be asking Him to help us “walk in the light” so that we don’t find ourselves walking in darkness. If we let the Holy Spirit teach us about light and darkness, we can avoid the pitfalls that the enemy brings.
Here is our problem… our flesh LOVES darkness! The Holy Spirit can and wants to shine His light on every situation, but the question is… do you WANT Him to? Often times we don’t!
What are your thoughts…?

I am a normal guy (some may not think so), I’m married, two kids, a dog, a cat and a fish. I have owned a station wagon and a minivan (I can’t believe I just admitted that!) My wife still takes my breath away and I want nothing more from this life than to make Jesus famous and to hear him say, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
